Lead Consultant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Leo Wamwanduka, the Lead Consultant at New Masculinities Solutions, is a highly accomplished, internationally experienced activist, researcher, and practitioner in gender, development, and public management, with a Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Potsdam, Germany. His career is marked by a strong commitment to addressing gender inequality and violence against women (VAW), and to promoting positive masculinities across Southern Africa, Latin America, and Europe. He is currently a research associate specialising in Caring Masculinities at the University of Pretoria\u2019s Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2003, Dr. Leo has specialized in Gender and Masculinities advocacy, engaging government departments, Academics, Non-Profits, Private-Sector Companies, and rural and urban communities. A significant portion of his career has been dedicated to engaging men and boys in addressing violence against women (VAW) and promoting egalitarian masculinities at various levels. This is evident in his roles as Gender & Masculinities Facilitator for Oxfam International Youth Partnerships, Programs Director at Padare Men\u2019s Forum on Gender in Zimbabwe, and Director at Envision Zimbabwe Women\u2019s Trust. This allowed him to develop extensive experience in organisational development, fundraising, leadership, and program management, particularly in the NGO sector. His experience in staff management, coordinating with boards of trustees, engaging traditional leaders and bureaucrats, and representing organizations at international and regional conferences on gender equality places him at an advantage in developing innovative solutions for contemporary organizations seeking to incorporate egalitarian masculinities into their structures and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
